Being a fan of the John Waters film, I was a little concerned about a Hollywood movie remake of a Broadway remake of a film by Mr. Waters. Did that make sense? You know what i mean. Anyway, I LOVED IT! Sure, it is not the same as the John Waters movie, and you have to approach as separate creatures. Michelle Pfieffer is Fabulous! Zac Efron (who i did not like in the High School Musical Film) is a cutie pie, and I love John Travolta. Just love him.
The Musical numbers are full of energy, and the costumes are great. It is not as outrageous as the John Waters Hairspray, but that is to be expected. Seriously, do yourself a favour and go see Hairspray!
